Born in Alaska as the only pup in his loner mother's first litter, Iota was labeled a burden from the moment he entered the world. His mother showed little affection or warmth for her son, try though he might to appease her in any way possible... when he reached the age of 1, his mother took another mate and chased him from their territory, scarring and blinding his left eye in the process. He spent the rest of his formative years wandering and learning from anyone who would show him the time of day, and he became a veritable sponge of assorted tales and histories that to others would have meant little to nothing. He spent most of his second year of life staying nearby the territory of his birth until eventually finding and being accepted into a small nomadic pack. He remained with them for another year, acting as their resident storyteller - which earned him much favor with the younger pups and yearlings, but little friendship among those closer to his own age. Eventually, he decided to move on and seek the next page in his own story for himself...
