As a very little pup, Soot's mother abandoned him to a pack, the Striking Light, far way from the Teekon's. His pack faded away into small groups, aka lone wolf bunches, and he stuck with one wolf. The alpha, Donimo. She took care of Soot, and brought him to the Teekon's, where they flourished in the unowned territory. Eventually, a bear came by, and killed Donimo, also swiping Sootfur on the head. Sootfur lost his memory (amnesia) and never got it back. He doesn't remember his puppyhood at all. Now, he searches for a pack, every day starving a little, from lack of experience.
