He had returned at the worst possible time, for Swiftcurrent suffered. There'd been a lot for Viinturuth to take in - too much to fully comprehend, for he did not know those involved - but he chose to withdraw for a time while the pack re-grouped and made sense of recent turmoil. It was not his grief to carry, yet he felt it all the same as he trailed his way quietly to the nearby Emberwood.
They'd hunted there a long time ago, had they not? He couldn't recall the finer details of what animal they'd tracked there or if he and his kin had been successful, but the woods were familiar to him as he picked his way along deer tracks. The afternoon was pleasantly warm and he appreciated the shade from the sun beneath leafy branches, the shift of the Summertime breeze on his face.
Things would get better for his brother. They always did. Viinturuth was certain he'd do everything in his power to remind him how to breathe.

Vasa found herself in a quiet woodland, alone with her thoughts; it was a familiar routine for her and had been for many months, ever since she'd decided to make traveling a full-time job. She didn't mind it. Companions came and went. Eventually she would find another, and the loneliness would subside for a time. Then they would leave, and it would return.
This was just her life.
She was used to taking company as it came, so when she wandered across a pale stranger, Vasa chuffed to announce herself. Her tail swayed slowly, but she didn't close the rest of the distance between them just yet. Instead she lingered where she was, giving the dark-eyed man the option of accepting or rejecting her invitation to talk.

When it became clear that he was not alone, Viinturuth eased his stride. He lifted his to the sound of footfall on the forest floor that did not match his own, and flared his nostrils in attempt to determine the scent that wafted his way.
The she-wolf who lurked among the trees wore furs of ebony, and her eyes were reminiscent if Summer sunsets. Viinturuth took a moment to admire her elegant, dark features before her chuff drew his gaze up to meet her own.

Good day to you,he said smoothly.
