While waiting at Moonglow’s borders for someone to intercept her, Solenya had smelled the scent of other wolves on the wind. It had peaked her curiosity then, enough for her to leave the giants of The Sentinels behind for a little longer. She had left her mark aplenty around its borders before she headed out, so it shall be safe for the time being.

As soon as the scents grew strong, the willowy woman lifted her snout into the air and sent a howl, a call to meet those who inhabited this area. She sat on her haunches, her tail curling over her feet as she waited.

We may think that we are tending our garden, but of course, in many different ways...

Lately Alaric was busy chasing borders. Doing what he needed to do. Keeping an eye on the younger wolves of the Spear. And he was failing. Treepie was nearly catatonic, refusing to speak to anyone. Tiki was constantly leaving. He hadn't seen Akrux much. The little ones of Pala he stayed away from, not really caring for their mother who brought trouble and was disrespectful. No, he wasn't doing well as the leader he didn't think, but he was trying.

A she wolf stood at the center of a call. Layered in colors of fog and frost. He tilted his head and dipped it down.

Hello. What brings you to Moonspear. I'm Alaric.

A male intercepted her, blackened with bits of bark-colored edges, eyes a shade of green that reminded her of the beauty of home. It made her smile, and hearing his name had it blooming further to crinkle the corner of her eyes. He was easy on the eyes, she could not deny herself the thought, but she pulled herself from it to respond.

Well met Alaric--I am Solenya Chava. I only came to greet those closest to my home in the Sentinels not far from here, right on the coast. She returned his greeting, her own head dipping.

I am hoping that, once I am more established, there is possibility of trades amongst ourselves? That is, if it is something of interest to you and yours. There was no reason to beat around the bush, she had much to do when she returned, but wanted this chance to build a positive relationship.

Alaric knew he was well into his prime and it still showed. However, as a healer he also knew eventually it would all fade. Muscle and sinew would go to seed.

He had to mentally map his paw traces. Tracking the places he had visited. He thought he remembered at the beary least seeing the sentinels. So he nodded.

A smile lit up his face. I am fine with trading it is how I made my life before settling. I am a healer, and storyteller among other things. I traded many things. including himself for a place to sleep or food.

Would he possibly come visit the sentinels himself for trades? The thought of it made her feel slightly giddy, but she brushed it off.

He mentioned he was a healer, and her thoughts immediately went to Kirain. I am happy to hear that, Alaric. I have a member who is in the middle of her studies as a healer—maybe, someday, I could send her your way to further her studies? I am sure we could come to some sort of agreement if, or when, that time comes. She smiled at him, another she couldn’t contain.

We are to be a rather peaceful pack and would much prefer to keep in our neighbor’s good graces. And, maybe his especially—for business purposes, of course.

Alaric had no problem leaving the Spear every so often, especially if it helped his pack and found family in the process. Not to mention it may scratch that wandering itch he had every now and again.

She can come my way. I have no problem teaching. Though he wasn't sure if he was the best teacher. And there were some he was certain out there better than he. Truthfully he felt as if his skills were becoming rusty. Not so many needed healing. Which was good, but also well he felt rusty.

We are pretty peaceful as well. But we protect our own when we must. A gentle yet sharp toothed smile. A tilt of his head.

He had agreed to assist Kirain, and that alone pulled at her heart. Whether or not Kirain would accept possibly leaving the Sentinels for some time to learn was uncertain, but Solenya could return to her friend with what she promised--growth, the chance to bloom.

That is very generous of you, Alaric. His name on her lips made her blush, her words like warm honey. She wasn't normally so...coquettish, but she had felt her season coming like a slow burning inferno. Absolutely awful timing, she thought to herself. There was embarrassment there in the blush of her cheeks, the color deepening its stain. I will talk with her on my return.

She returned his smile with one of her own, mirroring him. That is good to know. I have no doubt of your...capabilities to protect what is yours. If her siblings were here, they would have gagged at how sickly sweet her words came forth, and she would have nipped at each in turn, a laugh bubbling in her throat.

She sobered at the thought of her family, and she heaved a small sigh. Oh, how she missed them.

Standing, she stretched before turning. Her intention was clear, it was time to head back home.

One last smile, and a dip of her head before she bid her goodbye. It was wonderful to meet you, Alaric. I must return--don't be a stranger and come visit? Head west from here. Once you reach trees that seem to reach up through the clouds, follow the lupine. She was sure that the lupine she planted will flower soon, and it's scent would signal he would find her. All he had to do was follow it.

We may think that we are tending our garden, but of course, in many different ways...
