He needed to find her.
He'd woken sometime last night with a hunger, an insatiable desire, to be close to his love. He thought he'd seen her in the shadows, flitting to and fro. He'd chased her, but couldn't reach. He'd stumbled over his own paws.
Pygmalion followed the creek, vaguely remembering it as the way home. It was like everything was a dream. He barely felt each step upon the earth. A thin trail of bubbly drool snaked from his lips, beading bright upon his chin.
Bhediya where are you?! He was close; he could feel it. Home, and her. Her warmth.
Tremors rippled over his skin, his aching muscles. He needed her.

Ranging away from the Bypass, today's heading to start had been mainly west. Of course, the road adjusted as she went and without an exact endpoint in mind, she was casual about its particularities.
Good enough weather (season considered) had helped keep travels light, and honestly, quick. She cruised along without issue, or running into anyone so far but she knew enough about the area to know to veer wide around the Emberwood's pack unless they were her focus--which for this afternoon, they were not necessarily. Her targets were beyond, to reach the mountain range at bare minimum. Once there she could stand to peruse a little more thoroughly and see what had cropped up in the meantime.
Still, when she found the creek, she knew that she was making good progress. Thanks to the valleys ahead from here, she could see a straight shot to the Sunspire--a plenty good opportunity, one she liked the company of with a road yet undecided. But, once at the creek, she didn't need to rush to cross so soon; she followed it, angling south a while, but casually on the lookout for the easiest vantage across.
Instead of prey evidence like she hoped, the winds mentioned a wolf.. and it made her uneasy. Something about it did--not that she was often that sociable in the first place. She was prepared to write it off as just being the local pack but catching a glimpse of the pale-dressed stranger well up ahead made her think about that again, and reconsider. Something was off, no doubt about it.. She sniffed again, hackles raising uneasily as she hung back, gauging the distance she best keep.

He thought the nearby woman was Ibis at first and shuddered upon seeing the Archdruid, heart filling with fear. But then. . .hadn't she always been kind? Wouldn't she show mercy now?
So he made the decision. He began to pad her way, his step grotesque and limping, eyes glowing with fever.
He postured, waiting for the woman to make her next move. He'd killed once. . .he could do it again, should she show him any aggression—or scorn.

Ibis,Pyg croaked, but it wasn't Ibis at all—so he discovered upon coming closer. No, this was a stranger, and his hackles immediately rose, pelt bristling. If she was not a friend, she was an enemy; he would treat her as such. He bared his teeth, saliva pooling over, spilling out.

It really did not take him long to come her way, especially after her faintest prickle of worry. Carefully, she withdrew herself mentally, set it aside for survival.. seeing the curiosity start to shape into danger before her very eyes. Now was no time for anything less.
She had approached a great many wolves, and met even more than that so had smelled her share of things, and seen varieties and deformities and wounds and all sorts in her time that measured long enough. But, this much was pretty new to her personal repertoire. Upsettingly so, no doubt. His saliva... his scent. Foul, fabled, practically.. and marked with such a strange absolution to beware. She was full on hackles up by now, his ugly trip on over had given her time for that. Thankfully she was able to slip into a slow walk to help keep the lightness on, the distance there, and able to angle her towards the flight she might need quickly. She was one to trust her speed. It had saved her before, so..
A part of her hoped she had misheard, that it was not her leader's daughter by the same name he spoke, or by some chance he was interested in the bird.. Since he turned to a show of teeth shortly after, the scout didn't consider that for long yet. She filed that concerning piece of information appropriately, for later.

Ibis.. why?she dared before she shook her head, ears outward for only the instant before turning them attentive again. She licked her lips nervously, still.
I'm only passing through, she said, to remind him and lashed her tail, unappreciative of his show and not here to incite his violence pointlessly. Last thing she needed (and first she prepared for) was him fully squared up or worse, launched.
