he had never liked mountains. traversing through them always proved to prove troublesome. you had to be overly cautious, otherwise you would meet your demise. zeus would much rather be roaming along flat terrain then hugging against walls or moving at a snail’s pace. he didn’t enjoy this, but it was the more preferable route compared to going around.
he was not alone on these barren slopes. there were others present, a group of some sorts, way too much for his liking. he grunted and picked up the pace.

Grezig was patrolling, as usual, and the scent of a unfamiliar wolf hit her in the face with the change of the wind. She turned in its direction and began walking towards it. Even though this mountain was not hers, it had begun to feel that way, and she bristled at the thought of others coming onto it. Ahead of her was the sight of a cream wolf with brown markings. She stopped, ears pushed forward to show authority, and chuffed at him. “Do you have business here?” She had wanted to say something like, ’What do you want?’ but she had to remind herself that this was not pack territory. This male had every right to be here, no matter how much it might bother her. She forced her body to relax, pushing her ears into a relaxed state, her tail swaying once or twice to show that she was actually friendlier than she let on.

seems like he wasn’t quick enough. a woman approached with an aura of authority. it did not dissuade him. he held himself in a way that wasn’t disrespectful but not submissive either. he was a man who showed no weakness. was that foolish? absolutely. his mannerisms had gotten him in a fair deal of trouble before.
her question goes without an answer but instead with another question. “this place yours?” she certainly fit the bill in his eyes.

Grezig stood resolutely where she was, an immoveable wall. The fact that the male had ignored her question immediately made her bristle. The true answer was no—no this place was not hers. This mountain belonged to no one, and her group was not a true pack yet. The easy answer, and the one that might make him a bit more cautious was… “Yes.” She paused, not wanting to be caught in an outright lie, and amended, “For now. I am with a group of wolves who are intending to create a pack, but not here. We are resting on this mountain for the time being, and then we will move on. Now,” she quickly plowed onwards, “Do you have business here?”
Maybe now he would answer her.
Maybe now he would answer her.
solitude never bothered him, in fact he enjoyed it. creating ties with someone never crossed his mind but he couldn’t deny that the woman’s group interested him. being alone was ok for now, but once winter shows her face it would be a challenge to survive.
“no,” he replied with an amused smile, “in fact i was just leaving, but your band intrigues me. how many of you are here?”

Well. He was persistent, wasn’t he? But… he wasn’t being aggressive, and he seemed curious about the group (another potential recruit?) so she let it slide. She sat down, then, showing that she was no longer confrontational, and tried to think of everyone in their group. “More than five,” she said. “Enough for a small pack. Perhaps eight or nine.” She hoped that answer sufficed. “We are always looking for new members, if you are interested. But I would have to ask you what your skills are, if that is the case.” She waited after giving this information, wondering if he would agree to speak to her about the group more, or if he’d turn down her offer. Either way, it was up to him, and either way, she would not care.
Editing an ending. If you wanna add your own post, Alex, you can always ask them to bring it back from archives! <333
As it turns out, the male didn't have much to say. Perhaps he was not as interested in joining as she had thought he was. With a shrug of her shoulders and a quick farewell, she turned and went back to her group.
