Mink had been patrolling a little bit. Mostly hunting, and tracing the waterways, but keeping an eye out as best he could. As he rounded a bend in his route (alongside a thin, sad creek-bed that was becoming more like a puddle every day) he caught a hind paw against a tree root and stumbled. The missed step amounted to his lissome body teetering off-kilter for an awkwardly suspended moment, but he managed to gather his paws beneath himself before any harm befell him; however, as he tried to put weight back down on his ankle, he winced and was met with only pain.
It was probably a light sprain so he wasn't immediately worried. The wolf hobbled his way clear of some densely growing trees and found himself along the edge of a clover field, where he plopped himself down and awkwardly scooted his hindquarters so that his sore paw was extended awkwardly (sort of like when dogs rub their butts on carpet, or cats are caught cleaning between their toes), and tried to get a better look at the joint. It was quite a sight considering his stout limbs and long, thin body proportionally speaking.
When he failed to extend his paw and flex it enough (since every little movement hurt) he sighed, dropped his hind leg in to the clovers, and gave himself a few moments to rest. Maybe that's all he needed? A little rest, maybe a soak in the water (if he could find a creek that hadn't dried up entirely), and of course, a snack!

The woman had managed to push herself to hunt. Prey was disappearing fast and she almost wished she'd left. Kept going. But she didn't.
The measly meal of a groundhog hung from her jaw as she went to find a place to spend what felt like the last days in this world in peace. They were probably all going to die so...
Another member was laying down and she wandered over, looking to make some sort of relationship. She'd not mingled much whilst healing but was doing her best.
"Hey there," she greeted, her tail waving softly, placing the groundhog down. His leg was held at a slightly odd angle, but she didn't pay too much mind to it. If there was an issue it was unlikely she could help. She could deal with open, bleeding wounds until someone qualified came. But that was it really.
"Hungry?"

He was content to rest for a while, however, there came a voice - no introduction necessary for the stranger was deep within the territory and, at first glance, seemed to know their way - and Mink rose up to his paws as quickly as he could, a smile draping his long snout; they spoke of food, this stranger, and his tail waved.
Still, his smile remained.
Yes! Well, sort of. I was hoping to find something to share,he explained as he took a few steps towards the other wolf; they had the most intriguing red tint to their face! But he only managed to put his full weight down on three of the limbs, for the forth instantly could not take it, and buckled. He went side-long in to the dirt as his offended ankle gave way, and with an oof! the man realized his mistake.
Ahh, but I seem to have sprained something. So I guess there'll be no hunting.
Still, his smile remained.

Sorry for the delay!
What strange, chirpy sort. She'd been pissy and grumpy when her libs had been messed up. Ah well, she supposed others had a better outlook on life than she did.
"Ah it's fine, this was going to a cache anyway." She nudged the groundhog closer, an open invitation. She was putting on enough weight that her hips weren't so prominent now.
She sat back, her head tilting slightly while looking at his leg. "What'd you do to that anyway?"
