The walk to the pass had become a comfortable nightly routine, the event that filled him with joy daily and gave him reason not to stray.
Beautiful desert roses clutched in his jaw he came to tell his love of his findings, to caress him and whisper sweet nothings into his ear. He wished to taste him on his supple tongue, to breathe in his scent, to hear his sweet voice, to feel his well-groomed fur, and see him as he towered over the lion.
His tail waved as the thoughts flowed through his mind, memories of their previous meetings. His Samir was all that truly mattered, the only thing he cared to keep constant in his life.
Aşkım, kusursuz aşkım.

The desert air was still as Samirseti waited at the pass, his golden eyes fixed on the horizon, sharp and unwavering. He knew Arslan would come—he always did. The lion was as reliable as the sun rising over the sands, drawn to him with the same inevitability as a tide to the moon.
When the familiar figure appeared, Samir's tail flicked with calculated ease, betraying none of the simmering anticipation that stirred within him. The roses caught the fading light as they swung gently in Arslan's jaws.
A slow, satisfied grin spread across his face.
“You are late, Nefer,” Samir purred a blend of chastisement and indulgence. He stepped forward with deliberate slowness, closing the space between them with the same languid hunting as he always did.
He leaned in, his muzzle brushing against Arslan’s. “Are those for me?”

His tail couldn't help but to begin a low wave as he spotted his dear Benim, placing the flowers down as he approached to return his warm greeting.
Who else for, my love?He smiled, managing to sneak in a lap of his tongue.
I brought them from my travels. He stated, looking down at the brightly coloured flowers.
An oasis I came across, land more fertile than any I have yet to see in the lowlands. It had been a true marvel, and he had brought this gift as proof. He loved his husband dearly, he deserved something just as beautiful as himself.
I expect you to be grateful, hmm?He teased, a grin settling in his face.
It is not often that I find myself so generous.

Samir chuckled, a sound low and gravelly, carrying the warmth of indulgence rather than true mirth. It was fleeting, like a rare luxury he allowed himself only in Nefer's presence. He pressed close, brushing a kiss to Arslan’s cheek, his nose lingering there to inhale the sweetness of his scent.
“You treat me like some delicate maiden,” he mused, a sly grin curling his lips. “Shall I next be draped in roses and sung to beneath the moon?” His tone carried an edge of mockery, though the glint in his eyes betrayed his amusement—and perhaps even his satisfaction.
He cast his gaze down to the flowers, pawing one lightly with feigned disinterest, though the vivid colors clearly intrigued him. “An oasis, you say?” he murmured, voice tinged with curiosity. He stepped forward, his frame brushing against Arslan as he studied the gift more closely.
"Do tell me more, husband of mine." He whispers.

Oh but would you not enjoy it?He snickered, forelegs lifting to rest his front end across Samir's back.
I've been told I'm quite the balladeer!
He paused for a moment as he was asked to speak of the oasis, recalling his days journey.
It was a lovely area, green grass and a single source of water in the centre. He said, a smile stilling on his face.
A safe haven from the cruel ways of the desert, really.
Arslan thought it a good place to return to, so he had left a few markings as to not lose it.
Far off from surrounding packs, nearly untouched land.

Samir chuckled lowly, the sound rumbling deep in his chest as Arslan's weight settled across his back. His tail flicked with idle amusement, though his golden eyes betrayed a spark of interest. He mused, turning his head just enough for his sharp gaze to catch the smaller wolf. "Then perhaps you should sing of me, Nefer. Immortalize me in your verses, as is only fitting for your God." A light tease towards the end of his words.
The mention of the oasis shifted his attention, the faintest glimmer of intrigue awash within his gaze.
"How generous of the desert to offer us such a gift," he murmured, his tone laden with quiet ambition. "And far from other packs, you said. That’s a rare treasure indeed."
With a calculated push, he dislodged Arslan from his back, guiding him down into a seated position. Reaching out with his muzzle, Samir pressed against Arslan's chin, lifting it upward until their eyes met fully. "Look at me," he commanded softly,
"My little god. We will forge a Kingdom none shall forget."

His tail thumped against the ground as Samir spoke. He was glad to know that his suggestion would truly be coming to fruition.
A day trip, a chance to finally see each other in the sunlight. They would drink and eat as a union, lounge about in the grass as one.
His excitement was far from hidden as he awaited a response to his offer.
You'll come with me to see this oasis then?He asked.
Not now, but soon.

He leaned down, brushing his nose against Arslan’s cheek in a tender caress. "How could I refuse such a tempting offer?"
Samir moved to circle Arslan, his tail trailing lightly against the smaller wolf’s side. Eyes swallowing the smaller male whole, claiming him in his entirety all over again. "This oasis of yours," he hummed, "I do have high hopes."
He stopped just behind the red lion, head leaning in so that his nose could brush the backs of his nearest ear. His voice dropped into a low octave, almost cold, cruel.
"One such hope is that you do not disappoint me."

His expression grew sour as Samir lowered his tone, taking hold of his jowl for a moment, a quick snap - though his grip was not tight enough to puncture.
Maybe hurt, or maybe simply teasing, it would be the resulting reaction that mattered. He wished to be showered with gentle kisses and apologies, or stricken down and humiliated. Both would leave him satisfied.
If you worry I will disappoint you, then why come? His head was upturned, stubborn.

Samir’s golden eyes flashed, a brief, predatory glint lighting them as Arslan’s snap landed against his jowl. The feline man stood still for a beat, an eerie, violent silence encompassing him—before lips curled into a slow, deliberate smirk. A face of patience—
—though his eyes betrayed the simmering anger below.
"Oh, Nefer," he spoke as if having to bite back his snarl, "such fire. You forget yourself."
Without hesitation, he moved, his paw pressing firmly against Arslan’s chest, enough to tip the smaller wolf back just slightly. His muzzle dipped low, brushing along Arslan’s cheek before stopping at his ear. "My little wife?" His voice was mocking, grating, a warm fire against his red fur. "Wives are cherished, adored… and owned."
He pulled back just enough to meet Arslan’s gaze, growing still. Silent.
Then, he struck. A cruel predator snapping out of the darkness to consume it's prey. His teeth gnashed close to Arslan's face, forcing him down, down into the dirt of the desert sand below. Above his mate he hovered, icy bridgework near quaking from the bravado of his snarl. It echoed into the night.
When he spoke, it was cold. "I do so wish to forgive your insolence, my little lion."

He found a sense of fear flow through him, an unfamiliar dirty feeling that he was quick to sweep away. He replaced it with his usual smug grin, for what else was there to do? This was how it should be between two men, after all.
If he asked him too, he would be his little wife, his sun, the sand underneath his gait. It did not matter so long as his love was his alone.
They would forge their home as one, and they would rule as one.
Is this to say that you own me, Benim? He asked,
Was it not me who claimed you as mine first? How cruel! Now his tone truly said that he was only teasing. If it was what Samir wished for, he would not fight.

As Arslan relented, easing into a deflecting state of teasing, Samir felt the tension ease. The adrenaline in his veins ceased it's relentless roar, the bristle of his black hide sated, able to relax against his coiled muscle once more. He heaved a sigh.
Then leaned in, his nose brushing against the side of Arslan’s face. How he didn't wish to be mean to his little red lion. "Forgive my outburst," he murmured, inhaling a quick gulp of nefer's scent. "Hot burns my rage, dark as Ra is consuming."
He conceded, letting long legs buckle inwards to fall upon the cool sand of the desert. He sprawled out beside where Nefer had cowered, long limbs reaching out, uncaring of his beloved's personal space.
A sheepish smile fell upon his handsome face, a desiring glower outpouring onto his love. "Tell me again how you plan to honor me, nefer."
His head fell back against the dirt, eyes fluttering shut. His forelegs unfurled, reaching to tug Arslan closer.

His gaze grew soft as Samir begged his forgiveness, Arslan quick to settle with forelegs over the other once again.
Head leaning down to meticulously groom the fur of his lover, he considered his request.
What a lovely pair they were, their first quarrel and it had been resolved in an instant. Much could be solved with compliance.
We are men, we were made to fight were we not?A fact in his mind, and a simple comfort.

Samir let out a low, amused hum, his body stilling beneath Arslan’s weight as the lion once again draped himself across him. His golden eyes, now softened but still sharp with calculation, slid upward to meet the other’s gaze. "Men were made to fight, yes," he murmured, a growling nip placed at his lover's ear.
Samir leaned into the touch, allowing himself the rare luxury of momentary ease. "You love to play your little games, don't you?" he mused, his voice carrying a quiet edge of teasing.
His muzzle lifted slightly, brushing against the underside of Arslan’s chin. "But I’ll allow it—for now. Deprive me too long, though," he added, giving him a playful snap of his teeth, "and my little lion may just regret it!"

His tail gave a gentle wave, amused by Samir's playful gesture.
Before Samir, he had carried no desire for such a life. The man had beat him down, tamed his pride and returned him to a moldable state.
He loved him dearly, he only wished that he could provide all the benefits of a wife.
Oh, you overestimate my own willpower. He snickered, resting his head upon the man's back.
I wish to commit myself to you fully, Benim. He stared up into molten gold with a soft smile, a luxury reserved only for his lover.
I will be whatever you ask of me, so long as you treat me well and love me, and me alone. You understand that, yes?

Samir allowed a low hum to escape him, a sound of indulgent approval as Arslan rested against him. His golden eyes flicked downward, catching the soft smile offered so freely—a rare luxury from the lion who had become his. A faint smirk tugged at his lips.
"You will be mine in all ways, Nefer," he said, his voice smooth and deliberate. "And I will be yours. You ask for love and loyalty, and you shall have them. My word is my vow."
Samir leaned down, brushing his nose against the curve of Arslan’s jaw, a touch mad and possessive. "I have no need for the benefits of a wife," he breathed out.
He lifted a paw to rest upon Arslan's cheek, cupping his face dearly. "You are already everything I desire." Samir rasped. His muzzle pressed to his forehead, tongue darting out in a smooth kiss.
"We will have our children, my lion. A woman fitting will come along soon enough, and she will be sowed."

The children will be ours, a mix of mine and your bloodline alike.
He would not allow Samir to 'sow' any woman on his own. Odd maybe, but he wished to be greedy. If a dirty fahise was to touch his husband, then he too would use her. He would ensure that the experience was not pleasant. Both genes would be passed on, and both bloodlines would grow as one.
It hurt him that they could never truly become one through these puppies, and yet there was nothing he could do. No amount of wishing would change such a fate.

The firmness in Arslan’s tone was not lost on him, nor was the possessiveness behind the words. A faint smirk played at his lips, though there was no mockery in it—only acknowledgment of the lion’s resolve.
"You are greedy," he murmured shallowly. "But I would expect nothing less from you." He pulled Arslon closer, brushing his muzzle against his in gesture of reassurance. "They will be ours, bound by both our seed. No other will claim them."

Samir grew quiet, his golden gaze slipping from Arslan’s eyes to some distant point, unfocused yet alight with thought. His breath came slow and steady, warming the space between them as his muzzle brushed against Arslan’s, lingering. He inhaled deeply, drawing in the lion’s scent, grounding himself in the presence of his mate.
Why wait? The question burned in his mind like the midday sun over the desert sands. They were wasting time, circling what was already inevitable. Every moment they lingered here was a moment lost—lost to uncertainty, to hesitation, to the whispers of others who would never understand.
Let them begin now. Let them take what was theirs, shape it with their own paws, claim the world that lay at their feet. The foundations of their legacy would not build themselves. The bloodline would not cement itself in promises alone.
Samir’s resolve solidified like stone.
Finally, his voice broke the silence, low and rich, filled with quiet determination. "Why wait?" he said, his golden eyes lifting to meet Arslan’s again, burning with purpose.
"We can leave now. Take me, Nefer."
