Even if Osprey had called her simple, Tytonidae would not have been insulted. It was much easier to be simple than it was to live a complicated life. In all likelihood, Ty would remain a simple creature, content to live out her days uneventfully.

Osprey brought up the past, and Tytonidae tensed, but her sister's intentions did not seem hostile, and the girl relaxed just as quickly. "I love you, too, Osprey," she said (gently, as usual).
