It was true, though -- Peregrine had inquired as to the state of their relationship, though he probably wasn't as insistent as Elwood made him sound. He forged ahead. Rather than pin her down with a proposal, he left it open-ended; the ball was in her court, and hopefully he hadn't put too much pressure on her. But Finley was the sort of wolf who, well, misinterpreted things (poor Somnia), so it was with bated breath that Elwood waited for a response.
