All are welcome, but maybe @Tavi or @Kael because we haven't had a thread together yet!

Something about snow made Reek's stomach lurch with discontent.  A thick blanket of the white stuff had fallen over the maplewood, leaving no orange nor green behind.  There was a level beauty given to the snow-swept wood, but Reek balked at it's presence.  He did not frolic in the frost. He did not sing praise for Father Winter's snowy grip.  Instead, he wished it away... he wished for the season to leave him be and finally let him have some peace. Still, Reek knew wishes were childish things and winter was here to stay.

There was a day long ago when Reek would have accepted these wintery changes with a childlike sense of wonder and curiosity. Somehow, those days had left him. It was funny how time worked and how it changed a man.  Of course, he still felt like the same wolf... but, deep down he knew something had changed; a switch had been flipped.  It was like something that had been individually defining had been lost. The child inside packed his bags and was gone.

He made use of what little daylight there was to replenish his herb cache, but with the blanket of freshly fallen snow Reek knew it was a fools errand. Despite the perceived impossibility, Reek pressed on through the maplewood as he searched for the faintest touches of green. Saena and Scarlett both relied on him to deliver. Nosing the ground every few feet, he pushed forward, leaving a trail of fresh paw prints in the snow behind him.
