Things felt strange for him. Ever since his encounter with Nemesis, he'd been unable to shake the ache in his chest. Every day since then he'd wandered the borders, searching for her whilst patrolling. Because of what he'd said, he'd suspected his lack of contact with her was not merely a coincidence. The ghost believed he was being avoided by her, though it was nothing more than speculation. There was no evidence to support his working theory, but that didn't prevent his mind from drifting back to it every now and again. The pack hunt had lessened his faith in the thought, if only because he'd been able to see her—never mind the fact that it was an activity for the entire pack, and every member had been required to show up. Then when he'd seen her at the meeting called by Burke, the man had wondered if she'd faced the same conflict he had. To answer the call or to not, and what had been her deciding factor if she'd been met with such a predicament. Of all the questions that swam through his head, none were ever voiced. They'd remained stored away, collecting dust as he'd carried on with his daily routines.

Kove had been heading towards the borders for another patrol (as well as to search for Nem), but was stopped by heavy footfalls. They did not match anyone in the pack, as far as he knew, for the sound was way off. Each member walked with a varying degree of silence, but no one that he'd met so far was as heavy-footed as the owner of the steps was believed to be. Curious, he'd begun stalking in the direction the wolf was heading in, body low and ears back as he'd maneuvered through the brush of the woods. His own steps were quiet, wary of whatever snow patches littered the ground, not wanting to make his presence known before he was ready. The Inuit closed in on the source, his nose rising up to greet a passing breeze in order to figure out who—or what—he was up against. Much to his surprise, it was the very same woman he'd been looking for, which had led to his ears popping up and his body returning to it's full height.

From where he stood, she'd seemed oblivious to that which was happening around her, and he'd wondered what she was thinking about. Carefully, the man had made his way around a bush and fell into step behind her, letting a few second tick by before he'd let out an audible chuff. Having announced his presence, Kove then increased his pace just a bit so he was beside her, before letting his gait even back out. "Hey," he greeted, glancing between her and the direction they were heading in. "Something on your mind?" It was a legitimate curiosity of his, as he could tell from her expression alone that something was bothering her.
