They were noisy. Very, very noisy.
It had taken them each a moment to clasp on, and in those moments Sen had felt as if her ears might begin to bleed. The babbling, the whining, and, worst of all, the screaming. They didn't even compare to the screeches that had left her dinner's mouth, but those noises had been brief before being silenced. The survivors were not so quick to be quieted, and thus their mother was forced to listen to them until they'd discovered that, hey, there were teats nearby! It had felt strange once they'd latched on, but she'd take it over their crying any day. She knew not how they'd managed to even make so much noise so soon after having been born, for she was tired and had expected the same to be the case for them. Surely being pushed out of someone was tiring...? Well, she thought so, at least. Eventually, she'd noticed that one had fallen asleep, and she took then the opportunity to really look them over.
Two little girls, each with coats as dark as her own—save for the newly-appointed youngest, whose small body held some lighter shades to it. She liked to think that they were more like her than they were Depp, since no longer were they his. She'd chosen to let them live, and so those lives belonged now to her, and she'd keep the pirate away if ever he were to return. With motherhood, though, there came responsibilities that she knew not if she was even prepared for. The first one being, of course, to give the children their names. The titles by which they'd be forever known as, two combinations of letters that would come to define them. Thus, it was to the firstborn that she'd looked, observing as the child worked towards drinking her fill. No names had been considered or spoken of due to her having been certain that she'd kill them all upon birth, and so the woman was left without so much as a clue as to what they might be called. Their surnames had already been decided—Gorgon—for each girl born from a Gorgon woman was bestowed with the family's name. It was as close to a tradition as her family had, and so she would not be the one to break it. When choosing one's given name, however, she had nothing to go off of.
The longer her gaze remained on the small child, the quicker the gears began to turn. Suddenly, a name had come to mind, and she'd chosen it for her firstborn without any further consideration. "Sao," the woman had muttered, repeating in then several times as if to try and hammer it into the girl's head. To the other her attention had been given soon after, the process then being repeated. "Chusi," she'd said, the name being spoken several times over. While she knew that they did not yet have the capacity to recognize their titles or really respond to them, that did not prevent her from making a point, at least, of trying. "You two are both lucky to be alive right now." Such affectionate words. Thereafter, Sen lowered her head back down over her forelimbs, glancing to the children every now and again, but keeping a closer eye on the den's entrance. Sleep tugged at her eyelids, but for the time being, she'd swatted it away and kept herself conscious, feeling the need to watch out for the newborns.
Notice: Sen's actions and words do not, in any way, reflect my OOC opinion.
