The girl leaped before Laika could say anymore, which was fine. Maybe Laika was right, and she had remembered how to do it with a quick refresher. She watched with keen eyes as Phiipa hit the water's surface and crashed through, coming back up empty handed.

Even Laika was a little disappointed, giving that she was hungry and they both had the possibility of filling their bellies just then, but she couldn't stay that way for long. Laika still had her chance, and Phiipa's face of sorrow just made her smile. "Your fine, we're not perfect, especially with fishing." She nudged Phiipa's shoulder and turned back to her task, wading back into the water. 

She found the small fish swimming in the depths of the shallows, happily eating the algae on the rocks. She lowered her head ever so slightly and pounced upon the tiny body. She felt it graze her paw pads, but with the help of its slippery scales, it escaped from her grasp and darted away.
