The wolves who resided in the Teekon were so varied that anything was possible, she realised, as she briefly studied the girl's pale features to find her cheeks and brow marked by unusual charcoal speckles.

Anxiety gripped the peppered yearling, and Nyx maintained her distance to prevent upsetting her further. Silence fell between them following the duo following the other's stammered retort, and Nyx followed the youth's sideways glance to the collection of coloured stones on the ground.
