In a way that he should expect by now, a whole lot had happened all at once. He had been quite content to stay busy trying to figure himself out, work on his patrols, train, stay away from mama's teeth, and all that good stuff but no, everyone had to go around and constantly make things complicated. He wasn't even all that involved in any of it, not directly, but he was overwhelmed! First his adult status was so fresh, now a big chunk of the wolves he looked up to besides his family had left, leaving a whole mess of doubts and confusion.
And if that wasn't enough he had recently connected a really unnerving sort of dot that he didn't know what to do with. His father had been sure to remind him of this after they had been mountaineering along like all was well for a while. Jarilo had been zoned into minding his scenery, and his place upon it. Such a question turned to him made his ears tuck in tight.
His concept of puppies who were not his littermates was incredibly poor. His concept of soon being the older sibling--the Hydra, Alya, and Lyra to his Jarilo--was even hazier and downright terrifying because how??? He stared nervously at his father's hocks, watching as he expertly navigated these terrains. He would heed his warnings in the meantime, aim to emulate him, and hopefully, one day, be so surefooted too.
He was uncharacteristically quiet for a really, really long time about this as they climbed on. Maybe Vela would interject. He left plenty of room for her to. He was still overwhelmed at the thought of more puppies, more siblings.. ones that were maybe even going to look up to him like he loved his sisters.
"I think so." he eventually decided to say about the sibling chat. He had way too many mysteries and questions to know what to think now.
