Coelacanth regarded the sterling-furred wolf out of the corner of her eye, her carriage dipping submissively until, “Sunny!” she recognized with delight. Her Neptune eyes brightened cheerfully as her young cousin drew nearer. It wasn’t second nature for her to see him as such a tall, handsome wolf! She remembered him fondly as a youthful adolescent, dwarfed in size by his father — and more recently, as a honed down wolf recovering from illness. It always gave her a start to see how strong and handsome he had become. Consumed by her current task, she could not rush to greet him as she normally did, but she settled for a full body wriggle that ended in an explosive tail wag.
The accomplished young hunter laid out a battle plan of sorts, and Coelacanth nodded firmly — she’d have preferred at least one other wolf as backup given her small stature, but if Sunny thought they could do it, surely they could! When she wished, the Groenendael could be a formidable weapon of mass distraction — and she leapt into motion immediately at his behest.
Speedy paws carried her in a tachyonic zig-zag; she was fast even for her breed and zipped merrily in and out, taunting the goat to keep its sights trained on her. The fever-ridden animal was easily distracted from the lethal force Sunny offered — Coelacanth avoided lunging at him outright to keep out of reach of those horns, but made several sweeping motions to turn him and keep him turning, his beady, dark eyes ever on her. The only thing she lacked was a good Annoying Bork, which would also have counted in her favor in terms of distraction and redirection.
Thankfully, she was irritating enough without it.
