However this youngling, Sos, was new and required more of his attention. The boy seemed more enthralled with him than the storm, even as his hair stood on end. 

Siarut didn't think words were necessary, besides he wasn't sure what the boy could and couldn't understand. This was better. The young bear tried to look strong, and he impressed Siarut. The polar bear hid his observation, glancing between the pup and their surroundings. Sia knew the boy was watching, learning. The man was expecting great things from his newphew, he had much to learn and Sia had much to teach.
