At this point, Sequoia was just along for the ride. She watched the adults talk about whatever, but none of it really sank in except for the fact that Bat, Kiwi's sister, was here. Sequoia wondered how Kiwi was going to take that, especially since she had been so angry at Bat for leaving. Again, it was a sentiment Sequoia just didn't share with anybody. Leaving seemed only natural to her now that she had done it.

She remained marginally in tune with the conversation, but Seq's thoughts were elsewhere as it continued.
