Sequoia took a deep breath in, as if to refresh her memory on what color Wildfire was, even though she knew it well at this point. You're like the sky when there are just a few wispy clouds in the afternoon. It wasn't the dark sky of the twilight or deep evening blue. Nor was it the color of water, which was much darker. Sequoia was pretty sure she'd seen some flowers that were the same color, but she wasn't sure what to call them, so the sky was the closest alternative.

Maybe just one of them, Sequoia suggested, casting Wildfire a knowing glance. Each time she had mentioned Kiwi's name in front of Bat (or the other way around), they'd gotten cold and distant, like they didn't want to talk to each other. Sequoia understood it well, considering she had never gotten along with her litter mates. I don't think they like each other very much.
