They couldn't leave until Okeanos had met the kids. He said it was to make his farewells, and she knew she needed to do that too, but... It was hard, after having the confusing, teen-angst-riddled conversation with her father, to figure out where they stood or whether it was appropriate to approach him.

Ibis couldn't think of anyone else to say farewell to. Treason hated her (as far as she could tell, and for no reason she could fathom), Liffey and Rannoch had just gotten back from a long trip and were holed up with their kids (which wasn't something Ibis wanted to interrupt), and her bitey half-siblings would probably not remember her even if she did get permission to visit with them for any length of time.

So, Ibis had to wait. She was antsy to get a move on but unclear with the full plan, if there was any. The girl visited her usual haunts: the clover field that had become her sprawling green homestead, visiting each pocket of earth where she had hidden away her flowers and collected plants. Her path wound to where Korei had approached her and she smiled as she recalled how nice it was to meet a new face.

With a deep sigh she pirouetted in the clover field, startled, because the scent of @Terance had grown stronger and she thought she could feel the warmth of someone's gaze upon her — and in the back of her mind, Ibis told herself to relax. If it was her father she should be happy to see him. It was her fault that any ill-feeling was there in the first place. Her and her stupid, thoughtless, emotional self.
