Overall, the affect of his speech was that she came a little closer, her tail waving in tentative familiarity. If he was Valette's mate, that almost made him like an honorary uncle — except that Easy hadn't had much contact with the woman aside from a few quite visits. She was still a badass lady, and someone that her father had held in high esteem.

You might know that the latter is my dam — I'm here to get to know her a little, and then I'll likely be heading back to the valley my paternal aunt holds.
