A dad can only go so long without a break. Even Cupid—overprotective, homebody Cupid— needed some time out on his own. He asked @Mal to watch over Caerus before heading off.
The silence is strange. It never bothered him before all this, but now it makes him uneasy. He expects to hear his son's babbles or laughter, or Mal's distant footsteps, but there's nothing. Nothing but a woman rustling through snow.

Hey.Normally he wouldn't go out of his way to meet the locals, but he was feeling different today. Cupid approached and sat a few feet away.
