The wolf nudged him. Urgh. Sam did as he was told, leaving a sad wolf-shaped indentation behind in the sand as he got to his feet - barely. He was going to slouch the whole way, but the mention of food pulled at the tips of his fluffy ears for a moment.
The red stranger had the same peculiar accent as the Boss Lady, but Sam did not make the connection – and he did not know her name. He jogged to catch up.
"Sobeille?" the yearling repeated, slowly, tasting the foreing syllables. "I don’t think so.. are they in the business of stealing things? I lost my mistress's .. " Should he say it? ".. ss-k..stuff. Skull. It's a skull. Who would steal a skull? It was old and pretty gross, too."
