Overture Downs for some reason I can't explain

Having spent a few days reminiscing in the grove, Tryphon finally felt like it was time to move on. He headed south at first, unsure of his intended destination. His path gradually ebbed towards the west, but he did not leave the downs, keeping his pace slow so that he wouldn't outdo himself again. The thundersnow had calmed by now. Tryphon was no longer afraid of the bolts of light, although he did give a glance towards the sky as he wandered, wondering if the strange booms and flashes would return.

He stopped his roaming when the sight of dark silhouettes caught his attention upon the horizon. They were large and four-legged; clearly a prey animal of some kind, although not as large as the wayward elk he'd encountered the week prior. They seemed contented enough with their grazing. And while he watched them from such a great distance, he thought he saw a pale figure upon the snow — it was hard to tell, as the color of the stranger was nearly matching the backdrop of ice and frozen grasses.

After a few seconds he chose to investigate, beginning a leisurely gait towards Keoni's resting place. He showed little to no interest in the herd of deer (except to turn an ear towards them, keeping tabs if they chose to bolt). When the deer spotted his hulking, gold-faced figure, they paused and watched him. But Tryphon knew to keep his attention focused away from them lest they spook, and soon enough the deer chose to ignore him in return.
