the raven watched from the shadows.  she'd been thinking about tadec a lot — she wondered what brought him back to the valley.  perhaps he had chosen to come back on his own time.  she had a soft curiosity for the thief; perhaps his presence would bring her singing-friend back to the valley.

she made no attempt to hide herself after his balletic leap, although she kept a respectable distance as she chuffed for his attention.  she was fat and uncomfortable; already, her exhausted posture showed that she was little threat, though she carefully kept her heavy-lidded eyes on him just in case.
