Have you ever passed a bakery early in the morning and caught the wonderful smell of fresh baked bread? Nunataq felt exactly the same way, when she was treading through her former playground in Wapun meadow. She had left Lost Creek hollow the previous evening and had been too far to return after nightfall. Bearclaw valley had seemed just as good place as any to spend the night and also to begin her hunt for food early.

It had snowed and the air was very cold, for a bit Nunataq had been amused by the odd puffs of smoke that were coming from her mouth, whenever she exhaled, but the novelty soon wore off, because she was hungry as... well... as a wolf. And to catch the sweet, fresh and warm smell of blood and meat wafting through the air all the way to her, had been a wonderful turn of luck to her.

Soon she found the source and was slightly disappointed to see another wolf already devouring, what should have been Nunataq's breakfast. Nevertheless, she drew nearer and nearer, sniffing and searching the ground for the tiniest morsels, until she was close enough to the unknown wolf, where it had scattered it's meal around the perimeter. She glanced quickly over at the owner of the meal and then snatched a piece of skin and guts that were nearest to her.

They tasted amazing and only increased her hunger, therefore she turned to give a more thorough look at the other hunter, in order to decide, whether it was worth it to attack and steal, whatever was left of the slaughtered hare.
