He was spiralling toward insanity, toward madness. Normally he had a tinge of madness, a controlled insaniy but this was bordering on screaming, blubbering madness. He had left Phex with Cry and Gwen and ran off, he couldn't stand by her while she sobbed for his failure. He knew she had to grow up some day but he hadn't wanted it to be like this.


Yet...she had broken his trust. He had told her not to go wandering off alone and she had laughed it off. Then as soon as his back was turned she was gone. He had trusted her still, expecting her back quickly and by the time he realised she had ditched it had been too late. He knew she wasn't at fault for what happened but if she had only listened!

If he had only checked sooner.....A shout of anger left his maw as he shook his head, pausing to slam his forehead against a tree.
