Weejay had no reason to doubt Kiwi's sudden disappearance, and thus, no reason to think of it further. It was forgotten the second Mommy mentioned food: her ears flew up and her features brightened. Very much like Elfie in that moment, Weejay yawped a loud and joyous "FOOD!" before scampering off where her mom had been a few minutes before.
It was still much too early for Weejay to realize not wanting to eat food was a bad sign. Galloping over to the meal, Weejay excitedly tap-danced around it, awaiting her Mommy's go-ahead that it was okay to eat (and maybe play) with said meal.
