Yao didn't know where he was going.

Understatement of the century, really. He had no clear intentions on anything when he left his home other than to find glory and earn some battle-scars. The wars that his family and tribe had fought before (and during!) his birth had paved a haven of peace and prosperity for miles around his home. He had to travel far before he found any sign of trouble and even then, it was little more than skirmishes between small family packs. Nothing that a mercenary could hope to benefit from. 

Perhaps he was looking in all the wrong places. There were bound to be places like home — hot spots of wolf life, various packs and clans and factions. There had to be. It just made sense. 

He was finding none of that here, not yet. But he had only just arrived. There was sure to be something of interest, worthy of a warrior's attention.
