Moss knew the scent of a woman coming into her fertility, but knew very little of the woman it belonged to. She’d ignored it- and hoped that the men of the pack did as well. Already, she felt they had enough trouble on their hands without dealing with another litter of children.

She couldn’t help but wonder when her own time might come that year- but at least this time, she belonged to a pack. She could count on being left alone, if she simply avoided doing her patrols for that time. She felt certain none of her male packmates would dare come near her.

Still, she was lightly suspicious when she found herself drawing closer to the scent of the other woman on the wind. Bellatrix; she was clever, and seemed to take some interest in the pack’s history and welfare.

She caught sight of the fever-coated female in the distance, patrolling the borders it seemed. Moss noted this with a light nod of approval, and continued on her path. They could pass like ships in the night, unless the other opted for conversation.
