All Welcome

”No, no, no; it's not okay, idijit.” Mees spoke out loud in a loud but shaky voice, underneath his insecurity was undoubtely trapped. He often talked when he was all alone by himself. Somehow it made him feel more comfortable instead of the deadly silence that surrounded the eerie, misty atmosphere. Yes, all the key ingredients were there; he wandered around all by himself and now he was lost. Nighttime had fallen a few hours ago, eating up the remaints of whatever little sunshine fell through the thick canopy. Like a spider spinning a treacherous web, he was stuck like a little fly and danger was there – all around him.

There were only little light bulbs – 'fireflies' – that lit up the night sky like little twinkling stars. Mees had no idea what they were as he wandered around aimlessly, trying to find an exit to Firefly Glen while watching his every step suspiciously. Even these little bugs were not to be trusted; the territory gave him a restless and uneasy feeling and it wore him down. The moment greenery from a whisking willow-like tree touched his fase, like boney fingers gliding across a smooth surface, did Mees squeek. His heart exploded, adrenaline rushed through his veins and he began to sprint. Sprint to somewhere – anywhere.

Hope you're okay with me throwing her in here! c:

Of course Diônê was up at an hour like this. Her sense of adventure had led her into exploring the dark forest, and while she didn’t know how to get out, she wasn’t scared, not one bit. The atmosphere might have scared some wolves, but Diônê was having too much fun to even worry about what the dark forest might be hiding. There were so many fireflies! Diônê had never seen so many of them in one place before! That was what made the land mystical to her. Any fear that she may have had before wandering into the forest had been completely wiped out by the sight of the blinking lights that lit up her path. She had always been notorious for chasing bugs as a child, and now with so many in one place, the young female couldn’t resist jumping for a few as she wandered further into the dark forest.

Perhaps adventure could be found in this glen? Surely there had to be something special in the forest if it looked this ethereal! Diônê looked around wildly with a bright smile, tail wagging behind her as she scanned the forest with curious eyes. What was that? She paused for a moment, her smile faltering as her ears perked up at the sound of something moving in the vegetation. Her curiosity getting the better of her, the young wolf started to move in the direction of the noise. However, before she could completely comprehend that what she was hearing was the sound of someone running, a black blur burst out from the bushes and right past her, causing her to squeal loudly in surprise.

She whipped around wildly to watch the black figure go, but she couldn’t miss the unrecognizable scent of wolf that wafted past her as the creature ran away. “Hey wait!” She called out to the creature without thinking, instantly curious about what they were running away from. Starting to run as well, Diônê tried her best to catch up to whoever it was before they completely escaped her sight. “Wait!”

You're more than welcome (:

He rushed away in a flash without thinking straight, instinct had taken over the stirring wheel and now he was left behind uncontrolabble and relentless. Paws stepped into the soft soil, leaving behind his paw marks wharever he went. The pattern he left behind was that of a zig-zagging notion, his instinct was certain that if his path was without a real pattern he was more difficult to chase. This notion was valuable because he was certain something from high and above was chasing him and the only cover he had was that of the thick canopy.

Minutes later, when he thought he wasn't chased anymore by whatever, he heard a faint voice calling out. It was feminine and gentle; though his paranoid mind convinced him it could be the trickster playing a trick. He also wasn't sure what she said the first time, her voice being carried away by the wind into another direction. ”Uh oh!” Mees muttered as he almost clash course collided with a tree; instead he tripped rather unfortunately and thumbled to the ground.

”What do you mean with wait?” Mees said out loud as he registered the sound as it was being said a second time. His golden eyes looked around the area, trying to capture the moving silhouette among the shadows. ”You don't just wait until it's dinnertime, right? Cause that means you're the main course. Or the dessert; if you're cute.”

Diônê ran after the creature wildly, small paws carrying her forward quickly as she tried her hardest to catch up with the black blur that had ran past her only a moment before. She called out to what she believed was another wolf, but it didn’t seem like it was going to stop them. However, just as she believed she was about to lose this creature in the vegetation, she watched as they seemed they came to a stop somewhere among the thick plants. Worry flooding the young girl’s body, she felt herself speed up even more if it was even possible. She was concerned for a creature she hadn’t even identified yet, but that thought was either looked over or ignored in her mind. Her second ‘wait!’ flew from her mouth without thought as she scanned wildly for whoever had fallen in the grasses, but she didn’t have to look far before a voice rang out somewhere among the greenery.

Slowing herself down before she tripped over whoever was speaking, Diônê scanned the terrain for a moment before the sight of a black figure in the grass caused her to stop. Bounding over curiously, the young girl moved right in front of the creature as they finished speaking. Head tilting, she stared at the stranger for a moment as their words registered in her head. “Dinnertime? What do you mean?” She asked, confused as she panted softly. “Wow, you’re fast.” She commented with a huff, plopping down on the ground near the other wolf without much concern about who they were or not. Calming herself down, she panted for a moment before finally turning to look at the other wolf completely. “Were you running from the fireflies?” Diônê asked with a slight giggle, sending the male a playful grin in part with her question. Surely they had to be the reason behind why he had been sprinting away so fast!

Alerted, fearful and brave all at once, his ears were flattened and his neck hairs were raised into spikes. He looked half-wolf, half-lion; who would dare to harm him now? His leathery lips were tugged upwards, revealing a glint of his teeth. Now that the hunter had tried to capture him and failed, he was prepared. No longer could he be surprised, even not by something from above. Every now and then he glanced upwards, checking if there really was nothing there.

He had already concluded that the other creature – probably a wolf – was not the bad guy. Her voice was too nice, too friendly; or perhaps he was a little naive. When the adrenaline began to cool down, Mees began to huff and to puff, sounding like a fatigue dragon as he realized that his cheetah run had drained a lot of energy from his body. With the silly giggle and the question whether or not he was afraid of fireflies, caused him to frown a bit.

”I was being c-c-chased.” Mees said while trying to sound seriously, though the thought of what had happened flashed in his mind, causing his heart to skip a beat and a light tremble in his last words. He had been genuinely scared. ”Something from above crash-coursed with my face. It tried to grab me.” While he explained what happened, he didn't realize that it might sound unbelievable; and perhaps it was. ”So you better watch out, captain obvious, you might end up as somebody's dinner. Or dessert. Your voice is cute.”

Diônê allowed herself to rest before she went searching for the wolf that she was speaking to. The thick vegetation and the natural darkness of the forest aside from the fireflies were hiding this creature’s location, but that wouldn’t stop Diônê from getting up to find them once she deemed herself ‘back to normal’. The sprinting had really taken a lot of her energy out of her, but soon it would return and she’d be back to the energetic girl she usually was. The scent of wolf that had wafted by her when the black blur ran past her was all she had to make up her assumption that she was talking to another wolf, but before she could question them, she heard them beginning to speak through the grasses once more.

Listening to their story intently, the young girl tilted her head at nothing as their words ran through her head. They had been chased? Diônê wondered what type of creature would be out in the forest chasing wolves, though none came to mind which caused her to frown just slightly. By the way they described being grabbed, it seemed like they could have startled a bird that had attacked them. The darkness of the forest probably made even the harmless creatures seem like monsters, but the doubt was in the young girl’s mind and now it wouldn’t go away. Letting them finish speaking before she replied, she chuckled some at the creature’s warning and their comment before quickly hopping to her paws.

“Hey! We should go find that creature and take it down!” She grinned wildly at nothing, eyes scanning the vegetation for whoever she was talking to. “We can’t let it go on tormenting other wolves!” Luckily, she hadn’t encountered whatever had chased him. However, that would be a disadvantage should she find herself face-to-face with his attacker. “By the way, are you a wolf? Where are you?” If she was going to recruit this wolf to go monster-hunting with her, she needed to at least see their face! “Or are you just another cute voice?” Taking their own comment, she said her last words playfully, sticking her nose into the thick shrubbery curiously in an attempt to find them.
