All Welcome
With every day Tavi remained absent from the grotto following the revelation of her pregnancy, Reek's worry grew exponentially. Initially, he had figured she needed some necessary time away from the territory to clear her head. Reek would have done the same if he hadn't felt it necessary to remain behind as a duty to his pack. But, as days turned to weeks, Reek began to wonder if she would ever return. The thought that his desperate attempt to replace the family that he had lost had failed plagued him.

He typically found himself on the borders of Larksong Grotto, patrolling as he waited for Tavi's return. However, after so long, Reek tired of waiting. He tore away from the territory and traveled west (as it was the only logical direction Tavi would travel with the Maplewood to the southeast).

Eventually, he found himself in the coastal mess of briars, brambles, and brine: the Tangle. It was a terrible territory to traverse. Reek stopped on the edge and dropped to a seated position. Unable to proceed further any longer, he lifted his muzzle to the air and howled. His message was simple:

Tavi please come home.

Tagging for visibility.

Enough time had passed that no longer could she keep herself from the truth. That which she'd previously forced herself to assume was nothing more than a cold had quickly become the symptoms of her most despised state: pregnancy. The moment she'd realized, she'd wasted no time in leaving the sanctuary behind so that she might be able to clear her mind and come up with a proper plan. She had not told @Depp of her discovery, nor had she alerted him prior to her departure, feeling it best to leave when she could. It wouldn't be for much longer before her condition was discovered, and then the eyes of her co-leader would always be present. Watching, waiting... making sure that an opportunity for a true escape was never given to her, so that he might succeed in saving the lives of his—their?—bastards. Honestly, the thought of not returning until after she'd succeeded in completing her plan was always dangling right in front of her face, but she'd yet to reach for it. No, for the time being she would always return to the sanctuary, that way her health would not decline while a hideout was searched for.

Sen's current journey had led her far beyond the borders of Seadog, legs carrying her over a great span of land. She had not kept track of how far or long she'd traveled for, resting only when necessary and picking off smaller prey. Surprisingly, the nausea she'd been feeling for so long already had dulled, but it had not faded entirely. A minute feeling still lingered, rearing it's ugly head every once in awhile, serving as a grim reminder of her situation. Luckily, never had it hindered her ability to carry on entirely, and so onward the serpent had pressed until she'd crossed onto a terrible terrain. The entire location was a disaster waiting to happen, but that had done little to veer her away from it. Instead, the decision to investigate further had been considered, and then made the moment she'd heard the howl of another. The voice wasn't exactly recognizable, but that hadn't prevented her from wanting to check it out.

How she'd managed to traverse the land decently enough was a true mystery, and one that would, perhaps, never be solved. In the end, the only thing that mattered was that she'd been able to spot the owner of the voice, his appearance being vaguely familiar. A name and from where she'd first seen him could not be placed, but Sen would very well bet her life on her belief that she'd seen him somewhere before. Wondering if speaking might jog any memories—and wishing to forget about her own issue at hand—the serpent approached him, but remained several meters off. "Girlfriend ditch you here?" She couldn't blame her if she had, assuming he'd even managed to convince someone to date him. Being a creature of vanity, Sen's attention couldn't help but be drawn to his appearance.

He shuffled, turning his back to the impassable tangle of thicket and briar, Reek waited patiently for some sort of a response. The only response he received, however, was the hum of flying insects and the repetitive chirp of crickets. Biting his lip, Reek sighed with disappointment. While there was no howl sounded in response, Reek still remained content to wait for a few hours for Tavi to return. If not, he would simply move on to another place, howl again, and wait. He would not go home without her.

Reek rested his head on his forepaws and settled in for the long haul. Nevertheless, just as his chin touched his paw, Reek heard a rustling coming from the brush a good distance away. His heart welled with hope that it was Tavi draped in a canopy of leafy green. His hopes, however, came crashing down as a strange (yet vaguely familiar wolf) approached. He couldn't quiet place the face, it had been far too long since the war on Duskfire. The hopeful smile that had begun to spread across his face faltered and Reek's mouth closed.

"I guess you could say that," he replied on the breath of a defeated sigh. His shoulders rolled forward in a shrug. Tavi may not have left him at this very spot, but she left all the same.

So sorry x-x

The faces of the war had been a blur, some standing out more than others, but none having struck her hard enough to leave a lasting impression. Even Reek, whose appearance was one she'd have surely mocked during better times, was lost on her. Not even his scent was memorable enough to help her recall times since passed, for it'd changed slightly with time and, of course, she hadn't been sniffing the enemies back then—that would have been a purely idiotic thing to do, since everyone had seemed to be out for blood. Perhaps it was for the best that she couldn't quite place him in any significant memory, though, for that was of the past. Neither remained within the same home, and both had moved on in life, leaving little grievances between them even if they were to, at some point, remember one another.

When the male had replied, Sen grinned, his defeated tone having been mildly amusing to her. "Can't really blame her, can you? Probably wanted someone a bit... better looking," the woman stated, taunting him without having even realized it. To speak and think in such a way was practically second nature to her, and so often was it that she'd resorted to acting as so without any real reason or knowledge of it. "Tell you what, if you help me hunt something down around here, I'll help you look for this missing girlfriend of yours." It was a lie, of course, but he certainly didn't need to know that. "Hell, I'll even put in a good word for you! Tell her how helpful you can be despite your appearance." As if looks really played any part in one's capabilities, but trying to tell Sen otherwise would be a waste of breath.
