Greatwater Lake but in the end one needs more courage to live than to kill himself

All Welcome
Flourish was returning to the valleys and so for the first time in months, the scout decided to go on a trip out of the pack's territories. He needed to restock his depracated caches, for not all herbs grew in the Woods themselves. And so after crossing the grassy meadow that lead to the greatwater lake he took a sip of water first. He still looked thin and skeletal, ribs showing through his thin fur, but felt at least a little stronger.

Cicero sifted through the grasses at the lake's base, searching for some of the poisons he so craved, anything he knew he could safely take, anything he didn't know and needed to experiment on. Anything to feel something, really, because time was running out and he knew he needed it.

It was rare that Amber left the borders of Silver Creek, but the afternoon before had decidied it was time for her to travel. Not far or so she told herself, passing not just the mountain, but skirting a Fen pack and another patch of woods on her way. The borders of Dark Brotherhood were kept a good distance from, but the lake in the distance was more than tempting. Perhaps a swim was in order?
As the queenly shadow pranced on forward, she was greeted by the sight of another ebony figure, this one patched with grays and whites, rooting through some grass. Amber let out a friendly chuff of greeting, approaching with head high, but tipped, and feathery tail waving playfully behind her.

Just as Cicero unearthed a herb that he had not seen before and had yet to identify, he heard a chuff nearby and an ear tipped backwards to find out who was behind him. As he turned around he noticed that this was one he did not know by scent nor appearance, and he wondered where her pack was located and what she was doing out here. Perhaps she was a scout, like himself.

"Good day," Cicero said as he put down the herb and his mismatched eyes sought the other's expression. His body language remained neutral, though he looked tense, as though he was ready to run if he needed to.

Amber dipped her head in greeting, giving a smile and cupping her ears forward in curiosity. He was a colorless, patched man, with dual colored eyes, but was fully neutral at the obsidian womans arrival. The herb before him, however, was what drew her attention, her endless ocean orbs boring into the newly grown plant.
"And to you. I'm Amber Ciel, from Silver Creek over the West mountains."
Eyes flicking back to Cicero with a grin, Amber wondered if perhaps he would teach her a thing or two. No harm in asking, right?
                        "What is that?"

Amber Ciel. He did not know of this Silver Creek, hadn't heard of it before, and that intrigued him but it also made him wary. Cicero could not help but wonder, "Where is this Silver Creek? Cicero has not heard of it before." And she knew his name, then, he reasoned, so he did not further extend it. It was not hard to guess he was from the nearby pack.

She the asked about the herb and a brief smile flashed across Cicero's bony face. "A tool, a means to an end — a friend, even, to some. But most would likely call it a plant." There was no humour to his tone of voice, but the sparkle in his eyes suggested otherwise.

He asked of Silver Creek, and though she wasn't about to give him directions the woman did nod West. It was, literally, only miles from the edge of the mountains, but this Cicero didn't need to know that. She smelled others on him, a pack, which means she didn't need to recruit or anything. The new Silver Creek member probably told him a little much in her knowledge of the packs history, but there was no harm in telling that they used to be the wolves of Pheonix Maplewood, right?
"The pack is new there, came over from the Maplewood before I joined them."
She found it a little funny and a little aggrivating that she'd come into contact with one who drove them out: Gluskap. They'd talked for a good while, even talked about Spring herself. If she'd have known.....
Cicero went on to talk about the herb, sort of, but the answer she got rose irritation. Had it not been obvious in his expression, the obsidian queen might've given him some rude retort.
Retort she did, but a rumble of laughter sounded low in her chest, even as curious thoughts played in her mind. An end?
"What KIND of a plant, if I must be so specific."

The Maplewood. He was not sure why she mentioned it, but welcomed the information nevertheless. Her reaction regarding the plant was both disappointing and amusing, for she could obviously not appreciate his philosophical tendencies. "Cicero does not yet know. It needs to be tested. Care to help?" The question was post with a playful, mischievous glint in his eyes -- he already knew she'd say no.

"Is there a wolf named Desna in Silver Creek?" he could not help but ask, for he wondered what had become of Kove's child.

Amber's interest was captured, and she longed to say yes: but she was smarter than to agree blindly to something like this. A grin played over her face, her ocean blue eyes sparkling.
"How do you think I could help?"
He asked about a wolf named Desna, but she'd been gone long before Amber arrived and so the obsidian woman knew nothing of her. With a shake of her head, she told him so.
"I haven't been there long, but she isn't there now. The name doesn't ring any bells."

It surprised Cicero to find that the girl wanted to help him out. Since she had been kind so far, he felt obligated to tell her that it might not end well. He smirked as he admitted, "Cicero usually tries a little bit and sees if he notices any difference. But it is not always a pleasant experience, depending on where one's preferences lay." He doubted she would still be interested in finding out now, unless she was like him, a lover of pain or perhaps simply an enthusiast in experiments, of which he was both.

He responded to the news of Desna's departure with a hmm, nothing more. He supposed it did not really matter, for it was not like he would retrieve her, anyway.

Sadly, Amber didn't want to risk her life just yet. She had yet to woo Heston and have puppies, her life was not complete, and so with a shake of her head and a heavy frown of dissapointment, she declined.
"I'm not interested in dying yet and I'm a little far from home to be experimenting like THAT, or I would. If you're ever in the Hinterlands, I'd be glad to help though."
She wasn't a lover of pain, not at all, but she was willing to do a good bit to gain knowledge. The fae would rather hurt herself and know what she needed to firsthand rather than make someone else suffer.

Cicero was actually interested to find out that she would have tried out some of it, had she been closer to home. The hinterlands — he assumed that was where Silver Creek was, and he mentally noted that he ought to visit it on one of his scouting trips. If she visited here, then it meant that it had to be a travelable, which meant he could reach it. "Very well," he said with a grin, "Cicero will remember that when he is in the hinterlands."

He then continued to sniff around the undergrowth, looking for more plants — whether she intended to stay or leave now and wait for a future meeting was up to her.

Cicero claimed he'd remember such things, though he looked surprised at her offer: clearly, not many people did. He turned and sauntered off, clearly looking for something else, but the day was wasting and Amber wanted to see what else she could get into.
               "Have a good evening, Cicero."
With that, she turned and trotted off with a sway in her hips and a bounce in her step.
