There was a brief moment of hesitation before she obeys, the most minute of things. But Kotake does obey, without complaint. Her mistrust would likely be forgotten, but in the moment her eyes linger on her mother with a hint of idle suspicion. She was young enough that the incident this day would largely be a blur. She moved toward Damien for a moment, seeking to weave through his legs... and then decided she was tired. Stubbornly, Kotake lay down between his forelegs, her eyes shifting between Potema and Atshen. Her tail began to beat idly against the earth. Tired though she was, Kotake had lived. Today was but another adventure. That she might have died had not occurred to she who knew nothing of death or dying.

As Kotake broke from his side in preference for her relative as she settled, he stood. He regarded the others with a slight dip of his head, not commenting on what had been said. Instead, he bid them farewell. "I will leave you to the child," he remarked before turning tail on them. Having no purpose in their presence any longer the Silencer sought for more enticing prospects.

Kotake chose to wrap herself between Damien's legs instead of her mother's, and the dark prince looked up at her as though asking whether she would be okay now. It worried him that whatever she had ingested would bring further complications, but he was willing to do whatever it took for his niece to feel better. He laid down in place as the girl dropped herself to the ground, and his tongue ran over her body in an attempt to give her warmth. Everything in Damien's life at the time revolved around the spiderlings, and events like this were the ones he'd promised himself would never happen. Atshen, although he'd claimed to have nothing to do with the poisoning, wasn't exempt from Damien's suspect list, and he would find out sooner or later what ever was a poisoned rabbit doing so close to Potema's den.
