Rannoch was comforted by the coupling of Ayla's sentiment and embrace. He smiled softly and nodded, understanding where both Ayla and Lyra were coming from. "I understand," he accepted, knowing that for now, that was the best that any of them could do. 

Reaching forward, Rannoch briefly touched his nose to her cheek. "I really appreciate you telling me your perspective," he said as he pulled away from their embrace, "I honestly had no idea what happened. That day that Liffey arrived you all suddenly acted so differently." He frowned, unable to express his recollection delicately. "I didn't like seeing you all like that. It just felt wrong."
