As different as they were, from the sound of things maybe neither had much luck so far?  But what did that mean about what was around here?  Were the packs all full for the winter?  She wasn't sure if she really wanted to deal with one that hadn't finished forming -- that seemed kind of risky given the time of year.  

His response wasn't particularly positive.  Oh.  Yeah.  That's about my luck.  I need more information to decide what to do, but nobody knows anything.  She shrugged.  At this point, it was about what she expected.  Skydance didn't know what it was that had caused things to be this way, but things certainly weren't looking great.  Elsewhere really might be best if nobody here seemed to want her in a pack.  She could always come back in the spring or summer if wherever she ended up in winter wasn't particularly great.  She wasn't going to claim loyalty to a place that didn't make her happy.
