All Welcome
It was incredible, thought a haggard Ephraim as he paced along the territory's edge, that a pack of passive wolves like Elysium could have such a defensible territory. It sort of put Drageda's high cliffs and Rusalka's deep cove to shame. On two walls rose steep mountain cliffs that only goats could hope to scale, and on a third side was the nastiest stretch of wetland imaginable. He'd come through there, so he knew. That left limited options for entry.

It was brilliant, and the value of it was lost on these peacekeeping wolves. But Ephraim couldn't complain. It meant he was safe from Drageda here, if they would even try to get to him now. He felt certain, as he peered out over the ravine, that he was many, many miles from them. Surely they wouldn't waste the effort. Little did he know the sea and its cliffs were only a stone's throw from Elysium when compared with the rest of the wilds.

That was for him to learn another day.
