so what he'd uttered was a name. her muscles uncoiled, but she was not totally at ease. she never was, not with strangers. only because he was a child, she sat. he asked another query. enjoying the waves, she curtly answered, frustrated by her inability to weave an elaborate depiction in this foreign tongue. she enjoyed their embrace, yes, but the sea's touch was more than just water; it was a caress from the gods, for the ocean was an extension of their bodies, their power. mei felt closest to them like this, & she oft prayed while swaddled in a blanket of brine.
