this post is mega overdue.

the morning is early and partially cloudy even as the sun has begun its ascension in the sky, cresting above the calm sea that glistens upon its rippling surface. the waves crash upon the cold sandy shore, dredging from it's belly seashells and tangles of seaweed that kūn is quick to pounce upon. a rather large tangle washes inland with the salty foam, spraying him and splashing upon long legs and underbelly wet with saltwater. it is cold but he barely feels it as he falls upon the seaweed like a kitten pouncing upon a bug, grabbing it in his jaws and padding towards his small collection of seaweed tucked in the sandy dunes of the isle — safe from the greedy grasp of the Sea should She try to reclaim it.

greedily, the seadragon is not intent on letting her take back her gifts should Her mind change. continuing his quest, he hurries back to the fall of low tide, aquamarine gaze looking for more seaweed that he intends to lay out to dry in the afternoon sun once enough ( his idea of 'enough' anyway ) is collected.

ruo wandered of the coast, when she spotted a familiar, yet unfamiliar figure in the distance. she of course knew of all her cousins, even if they did not know her back, but truly knowing them was another task altogether. the general characteristics were a general for the forced interactions between families. but the siren was never close, especially to the further cousins, like the seadragon.

baby blues locked onto kun.. what the fuck is he doing.

having only ever been close with his paternal cousins, kun wouldn't recognize any of his maternal cousins by looks alone. a glimpse is sent towards the woman who's form looms in the distance ...watching him, but initially she goes largely ignored. kun, knowing this isn't good pack etiquette — and not really caring — lets out a small huff as he gathers another strand of washed up seaweed, nosing through the seafoam that accumulates and is left behind when the waves recedes, adds it to his pile.

only to realize she's still watching. if you're going to stare you could at least offer to help. kun sing-songs sardonically, assuming that she wouldn't understand as he keeps going in his mission, determined not to let his watcher interrupt him.

"why." deadpan, she questioned the cousin. ruo cared little to pack etiquiette, as they were gone from rigid old clans of the old home. not to mention, not that she thought of it, she pretty sure kun has never seen the siren before. it wasn't uncommon for some to not know who she was, much less remember, for her resclusive nature kept socialities at bay.

but she still was wondering what the fuck was he doing. ruo didn't want to help.
