Just a cameo.  :)

Drawn to dark places, Venamis spent several roaming among its dense foliage and prowling along the woodland's many shadows. The vagabond felt safe there, secure in this world of ash, muted cyan and enhanced crimson shades, void of the brightness found beneath a midday sun.

He was at once fond of Ravensblood, and fancied that he could lay his head there when the need arose.

On the fourth day of his residence there, as he trailed a regular deer path toward the direction of his chosen resting place, Venamis was looking forward to having his fill of the fat, greedy squirrel he'd managed to slay. He padded carefully along the route, listening for the squelch of each paw in the mud, before a lobe twitched in the direction of a nearby voice.

The raven carried on, hackles lifting in preparation of communicating his offense at another's proximity and jaw tensing to better grip his prize. Rich blood trickled from a puncture wound with his tightened hold, enough to mar the white of his chin; fierce Winterwhite eyes scrutanised the unfamiliar she-wolf from behind. Venamis emitted a soft rumble, mostly to himself, and would be sure to lash his tail in annoyance should she turn to look his way.

She was not alone, however, and the rogue blinked toward another young wolf who approached the female. From the distance between him and them, he could make out no similarities that might pair them as siblings, but the earthen male's words were enough to rouse his wonder.

He didn't stick around to find out. He didn't care to witness what held the potential to be a jovial family reunion. Possessive over his kill and eager to feed, the bristling yearling disappeared into the welcoming shade of the bleeding trunks, off to seek his private rendezvous to feed.

sanguine, my brother
