All Welcome
The sun had barely risen as the hebsut arrived at the queen's side. He set the large bundle of flowers down near his paws and got to work removing any flowers that had shriveled up. He had made it his duty to check on her and make sure to clean away any dead plants and replace them with new, vibrant ones. He knew she would enjoy them, just like she had when he brought them to her quarters.

When he had removed anything dead, he started placing the flowers in various places around the queen's body. When he was done, Sayf took a step back and sat down. He would sit in silence for a while. He still couldn't wrap his mind around what had happened. And now he suddenly felt like he had to be suspicious of everyone. He wished time would reverse and take things back to the way the were.

A cameo!

They had not been present for the binding of the queen's body, or the rites that had been spoken for her.

They had not been there for Ramesses' mourning or his decree. They came now, thinking the coast was clear, and saw Sayf; but it was not Sayf that drew Jawahir's attention or even the desiccating body that was tended to - it was the dried flowers.

The herbal bundles shriveled and curling. Jawahir's look was sunken to begin with; stricken, after, as they forced lunch back down and out their throat.

Hurried, the jewel turns to flee down the corridor.
