All Welcome
Drawn by the cool scent of ice on the breeze, the lynx headed south, toward the glacier that lay nestled in the grey mountain’s embrace. Into the shade she moved, to an area where the ground was soft beneath her broad, careful feet. The sun’s rays were caught by the leafy canopy above, and the floor of the forest was spared from its heat. Combined with the cool breeze that fell down the slope and into the woodlands, the air in the forest was actually quite cool. Refreshing, for the spotted cat.

She thought it might make a nice place to settle and begin claiming as a territory, though she would have to assess it first. If another lynx lived here, she would have to either move on or challenge them for their home. And if there were too many other predators, it would lose its value again.

She began tracking her way through the forest, looking for any omens that might warn her against claiming the area as her home
