The white hunter was summoned by a woman’s voice on the cold air. Kannoyak returned the call with a deep howl of his own. It told the stranger that he would come, that he would hasten to answer her summons.

As the pale figure strode into view, his plum gaze settled on a familiar figure – another white hunter. Kannoyak nodded his head to Chakliux. It was good to see him again. Their hunt had been fulfilling and had showed promise in the wolves of these lands. There was potential with the wolves of this village, or so he thought.

Kannoyak remained distant. He did not draw close, yet. The plum of his eyes found the pale woman with sharp eyes – Sialuk. She had also hunted with them. It was good to see familiar faces.
