There was still a lot to adapt to. A lot to see, and to study. Mojag was only mortal and needed to eat and to rest periodically, and when he did those things he found himself distracted with thoughts of Moonglow and of his mother.
Sometimes he felt like he was back on the island; other moments he felt brave and boastful, for he had accomplished a lot in his short life, and he knew Shikoba was proud of him. Nothing stopped the boy from missing his mother, though.
He was cleaning off the hide that Rodyn had gifted to him (as he promised to keep it in good condition), when he began to wonder about his sleeping place... and that got him thinking about Rodyn and Samani sharing a space; did it feel similar to when he used to sleep in Shikoba's ulaq or somehow different?
What was it like being betrothed, or married? When he caught himself there, he quickly shook his head as if to rid himself of something far, far beyond his understanding.
