Profile of Orkan: Details
Appearance
Completely black from muzzle to tail Orkan is like a patch of moonless midnight made organic and allowed to walk the Earth. Orkan is the wolf equivalent to "long and lanky", he weighs in just over 80 pounds under normal conditions and has longer than usual limbs that make him appear tall. Orkan's only striking feature are his eyes which are gray like two drops of brushed metal.
Personality
Orkan was raised very proper in the pack he was born into, at times he may even fall back into a more antiquated and eloquent mode of speech. He very much respects those that are in a higher station above him and he treats those beneath him with fairness and honor.

Orkan was also encouraged to expand his mind in his youth and to explore and make his own discoveries that would add to the pack's knowledge. Orkan loves making discoveries and anything that he finds that's new. Can get into a slump if he hasn't seen/experienced/met anything new in a few weeks.

Is very desperately trying to escape his past in terms of physical distance as well as mental and emotional. Absolutely refuses to discuss what happened and what he's running from. Still believes in the "Great Old Ones" that his pack worshiped because it's all he's known, perfectly ready and willing to believe in either nothing or a more benevolent form but will be leery toward religion for the time being.

Current belief is that whatever happens to him is in direct correlation to his standing with the Great Old Ones, either good things for pleasing them or bad for angering them which is the most common form of their attention. Fearful of stars.

Biography
Orkan was born in a state park near the northern edge of Minnesota during a rainstorm to a cult focused pack. Life as a puppy was normal for Orkan, he was a single pup born to the packs Beta couple and was raised and expected to live up to a certain ideal. Orkan's parents were never harsh unless Orkan had done something to deserve a harsh punishment (hardly ever after the first couple offenses) and raised Orkan proper. As Orkan aged though things began to take a turn for the strange.

When Orkan neared his ten month age and was considered to be independent he began to see less and less of his mother, Sanguine. This wasn't a surprise in and of itself but he noticed her in the presence of many of the packs males, especially ones that held higher ranks which was strange. A few weeks went by and Orkan forgot the whole incident as he grew excited for when he became a year.

Orkan's fear and concern reared itself again after his year birthday when he no longer saw his mother around the pack or den at all. When he asked his father, Bose, about where his mother was Bose simply replied, "She's gone to serve the Great Old Ones son.". The way Bose had said it did nothing to calm Orkan's mind. Orkan never saw his mother again. Orkan was determined to keep his eyes open and figure out the truth behind his father's lie.

Orkan knew that at certain times on certain moonless nights the higher rank wolves would meet away from the rest of the pack to beseech the Great Old Ones' blessing. It would be a long time before Orkan got the chance to spy on these proceedings but the chance finally came on the day of his 2 year birthday. Shortly after the pack leaders had left to their unknown destination Orkan was sent away by the wolves left in charge to search out a certain plant to heal the sick in the pack. Orkan dutifully left in search of the plant but once he was out of site of the sentries Orkan immediately changed his direction to coincide with the leaders destination. What he would see that night would emotionally scar him for eternity.

In the dark of the night where the only light came from the haunted stars, Orkan saw the leaders gather around a great pit, filled with something but he couldn't tell what, and a small white creature that was whining pitifully nearby. Orkan moved gently closer and as he did so the creature that he thought was small and white came into focus as a female packmate! What he thought had been a small white creature had in fact been the white fur of her belly, four leaders had her pinned at her paws on her back and that's when the raw stench of death became apparent to Orkan. The pit was also now close enough to see what was inside and it was filled to the brim with the bones of wolves, as the pieces came together Orkan felt the bile rise in his gut. One of the leaders, whom Orkan recognized as his father, approached the whining female and methodically tore a gaping and steaming hole into the exposed belly of the now screeching wolf. With rising disgust Orkan watched as each leader came and pressed his face into the steaming mess that was once a fellow wolf's tender belly all the while chanting and then raising their voices in howls at each marking of a leader. Orkan had decided that he'd seen enough and ran as far and as fast as he could, he only ever stopped to drink and catch food to eat. Orkan ran until he found himself on the opposite end of the continent and at the Teekon Wilds

Player Notes
Name's Jake, live in Utah with my wife and 3 daughters. I've been into RPing since 2010 my brother and I have developed a few tabletop RPG's that we've enjoyed playing and I only just got into forum RP in 2014 so still new. I adore reading! My favorite authors would be H.P. Lovecraft, J.R.R. Tolkien, David Eddings, R.A. Salvatore, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I'm currently rereading Skywater by Melinda Worth Popham and The Sight by David Clement-Davies as inspiration for playing here on Wolf. I also really enjoy music and I may link to it if it's what's inspired me during a certain thread or post.

Anything else you may want to know just ask, I'm super laid back and up for about anything so PM me for a thread/post. I hope to get involved as life will allow.
