Tonrar was bestowed his name meaning “devil or ghost” when his eyes began to make their transition from milky blue to a silver that was as if they siphoned the color of the moon’s beams. When he was old enough to eat regurgitated meat he was taken from his mother and groomed for the rank of warchief within his clan bearing the same eye mask that his father bore (the Warchief was permitted to breed with as many females as they were willing in the hopes of producing an “heir” — a child that bears the eye mask of the Chiefs of Old). Tonrar was not the only “heir” to bear the mark of the Chiefs of Old and when he and his sister were pitted to fight one another to the death following the belief that there could only be one Warchief Tonrar refused and was banished from his natal pack. From there he wandered looking for a place to rebuild his home, as he believed was the spirits of the Chiefs of Old’s path for him.
