The island where he was born is small when compared to the vast wilderness of the Teekon. Here, on this frigid expanse of fifty miles, Goldmoon learned the harsh realities of the world and what was expected of him. The son of a warrior priestess and the rival who conquered her; a true bastard, but it would not matter. The wolf population grew and with it came the dwindling presence of the reindeer which were their traditional food source, eventually forcing the savage beasts to turn upon one another. When an easy meal became available he was dispatched with his fellow barbarians to seek it out, to butcher and to maim, but it would all backfire. The single human town upon the island was the target - their sheep waiting for the slaughter. All went awry; those that were not shot fled across the ice and were tracked. Hunters came for many, but it was scientists that came for him. Goldmoon tried to fight but they subdued him, stole him away, and left him afterwards in this strange new place.
