Appearance
Juju is named such because he was born black, in a family of white polar wolves. The shamans in his tribe considered this a bad omen. Too afraid to anger the spirits, they waited until his first Nameday to force him out into the wilderness where they claimed it was his ancestral rite of passage to see the edge of the world (Southern Sea) and come back.

Biography
Juju Bad Moon grew up in Snow Peninsula, a tribal pack that wanders the Arctic. They follow the Siqiniquktu, a caribou deity that has the body of sun fire. The pack is migratory and has a belief system similar to Inuit.
When Juju was born black to white parents, in a predominantly white furred society, the shamans were called. They believed demons inhabited the whelp and performed many rituals to no avail. After this failed the shamans held council and it was voted that Juju be killed. His father had grown attached and made a deal with the shamans, giving them Juju's littermate as an accolyte in exchange for sparing Juju until his first Nameday. When winter ended and his Nameday approached, the shamans gave him a rite of passage (travel to the Southern Seas) and told him he could not return unless he brought the skull of an arvik (whale) with him.

Juju was born to Ujuut and Avika, alongside three other littermates. Because he was considered cursed, he did not formally receive a name in his mother-tongue and was referred to as Juju.
