Though born in a time of great sadness, young Panuk is surprisingly mature for his age. He is attentive to the needs of others and does what he can to assist in any way he is capable. From early on, it was clear that the boy was attuned to the spiritual. He would often see things that weren't there and later learned that these things were only known by him. Pan spends a great deal of his time in the wilds, learning, watching, listening. In recent months, he has found an unfamiliar woman's voice carried in on the waves. She guides him and urges him to become strong. He is unaware that it is the voice of his mother.
